Vintage Christmas Trees and Women

Vintage Christmas Trees and Women

I am fascinated by these vintage photographs I found on the internet. I have no idea who the women are or what years the pictures were taken, 1950s, 60s and 70s mostly. Some of the ladies are in posh party frocks, some simply ‘at home’, just like film stars! They are willing participants and not caught off guard,  so they must have been thinking it was the right moment for the photo to be taken?  Original aluminium trees are sought after now and fetch a lot of money but I still prefer a real tree. I wonder if lametta will make a big come back? I used to love the look of the fake snow floss too but I’m fairly certain it was withdrawn from sale because it was made from spun glass fibre. As much as I love the old vintage glass baubles (many reproductions around on the market now) they weren’t shatter proof. Add in fairy lights with dubious wiring and flammable tinsel and it’s a wonder these women survived Christmas at all.
